About Us

At North Belmont Elementary School, students receive a strong academic foundation in a caring and supportive environment. As one of only three “B” rated elementary schools in Gaston County, North Belmont ranks as the second highest “B” and has exceeded growth expectations every year. The school is also recognized in the top 9 percent of all schools in North Carolina by U.S. News and World Report.

Academic success is at the heart of everything we do. Our students take part in weekly hands-on learning in the science lab and have access to full classroom libraries, along with a school library filled with 96% new titles. We offer after-school tutoring during the spring semester to give students extra help where they need it most.

North Belmont is also proud to support the arts through programs like the Singing Eagles, a student choir with more than 50 members led by music teacher Ms. Griffin. The group practices weekly and performs at events throughout the community.

Our school benefits from strong community support. A dedicated PTO helps raise funds for classroom supplies, playground improvements and student incentives like a slushie machine. We also partner with local churches, community groups, and Belmont Abbey College to support learning in and out of the classroom.

North Belmont is proud of its diverse student population, including 130 multi-language learners. Our experienced and committed staff is focused on helping every child grow and succeed.
